Recently, President Donald Trump was asked by Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy if Russia was helping Iran target U.S. troops, following a Washington Post report suggesting Moscow may be giving Tehran technical support.
The question came at the end of a White House College Sports Roundtable.
“President Trump, it sounds like the Russians are helping Iran target and attack Americans now,” Doocy asked.
Trump replied, “That’s an easy problem compared to what we’re doing here, but can I be honest? I have a lot of respect for you, you’ve always been very nice to me. What a stupid question that is to be asking at this time. We’re talking about something else.” He then moved on to the next question without adding more.

The Washington Post reported that Russia may be helping Iran strike U.S. forces. One source said, “It does seem like it’s a pretty comprehensive effort.”
The question comes as U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran continue, which have already killed six American service members.
Doocy was not the first Fox journalist to raise the issue.
Earlier, during a Fox News interview, anchor John Roberts asked White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt about confirmed reports from U.S. officials that Russia is providing intelligence to Iran to help it target U.S. assets in the region. He specifically questioned:
“I wanted to start you off this afternoon because we have confirmed reports from U.S. officials that Russia is providing intelligence to Iran to help it target U.S. assets in the region. I’m sure this is something that does not please the president whatsoever. Has he spoken to Putin about it?”
Leavitt gave a dismissive reply, stating: “Well, look, I’ll leave that to the president to answer himself, but what I will tell you, John, is we don’t comment on intelligence reports that are leaked to the press. Whether or not this happened, frankly, it does not really matter because President Trump and the United States military are absolutely decimating the rogue Iranian terrorist regime.”
She added that questions about Russia should be left for the president himself.

This comes as Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Friday that Trump “may unsanction” Russian oil to increase global supply and ease rising energy prices during the ongoing U.S. and Israel campaign against Iran.
