Trump Lunges Forward And Menaces At Female Reporter —And It’s Not A Good Look

Press conferences on airport tarmacs rarely go smoothly, but this one went sideways fast.

The trouble started with a fairly standard question. A reporter asked about the economy: “On the checks, we have $40 trillion in debt. If your economic policies are working, why do you need an incentive for people to turn out to vote?” Trump leaned on a familiar talking point in response, framing the payments as compensation owed to Americans, explaining “I’m doing it as a reward for people having to put up” with what he described as a horrible situation caused by his predecessor.

The follow-up question is where things went south.

When the same reporter tried to raise tariff refund checks that never actually went out, Trump cut her off outright. “Not you. Not you,” he said. She pushed once more, pointing out the checks simply hadn’t happened, and his reply left zero room for a third attempt: “Not you. You’re the worst.”

Journalist Aaron Rupar posted the footage, and it took off fast.

Several people jumped into the thread with their own takes.

Questions about the economy or tariffs tend to get this treatment more than most. Reporters pressing on market pain, trade deficits, or unfulfilled promises walk away with short, sharp answers rather than anything resembling a detailed response, and Thursday’s clip fits that mold well.

It’s happened before, too. Aboard Air Force One last year, Bloomberg’s Annmarie Hordern asked about potential pain in the markets from his tariff policy, and Trump shot back that “I think your question is so stupid” before moving on to another reporter entirely.
