Trump Made “Twisted” New Promise To J6 Rioters That Was So Bad, It Left MSNBC “Morning Joe” Panel Horrified

This is a whole new level of blatant corruption.

NBC News broke reporting recently that confirmed scandal-plagued ex-President Donald Trump’s participation in a fundraiser for individuals who have been charged with crimes in connection to the infamous, deadly January 6th attack on the US Capitol — as he ironically and simultaneously faces his own criminal charges on both the state and federal levels in connection to his own role in the very same fatal insurrection.

The entire event, that took place at the disgraced former guy’s private golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, was a hodge podge of nonsense so ridiculous and unhinged, it’s hard to even wrap your head around. However, there was one particular portion of Donald’s big speech during the fundraiser that sent heads spinning on a recent segment of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

Co-host Mika Brzezinski opened the segment and discussion on Trump’s recent fundraising event, “What might be most troubling is Trump supporters would love that. Former president Trump promised to make a contribution to the legal fund supporting the rioters charged in the January 6th attack on the Capitol. Trump made the pledge at a fundraiser on behalf of those defendants which was hosted at his Bedminster, New Jersey, golf club by the Patriot Freedom Project, a group founded by family members of those charged.”

“You think it can’t be more twisted, but this is twisted,” she blistered.

Fellow MSNBC host and panel member Jonathan Lemire interjected and noted that the “bottom keeps getting lower, why not” publicly vow to foot the legal bills of the violent mob that stormed and destroyed the US Capitol building in his name.

“He called January 6th ‘a beautiful day,'” Lemire added. “He promised to pardon most of the January 6th rioters, he has suggested he’ll make a contribution to the legal defense fund.”

At one point in the segment, panelist and former diplomat Richard Haas was asked for his thoughts on the matter and he wasted no time in expressing his concern regarding the legality of the whole mess.

“A side note [about] the fact that Donald Trump would contribute to a defense fund,” Haas said, “I’m not a lawyer, but these people could be called on to testify against him. He would potentially be paying money to people who could be called upon by the Justice Department to testify against him.”

Former RNC chair Michael Steele was the one to ultimately say the quiet part loud here, smirking that the mere notion of Trump footing such a massive bill, pointing out that in the end, this is likely nothing more than yet another empty promise from the disgraced former guy, who almost undoubtedly won’t come off of a single red cent for his jailed and charged followers.

“I think to Richard’s point, I think, it is an important one, Donald Trump ain’t putting any money out there for nobody,” Steele said with a laugh. “Remember, this is the same guy who told people, ‘Y’all go out and do all these bad things. Don’t worry, I’ll pay your legal fees.’ He’s not paying his own legal fees!”
