This is not something most presidents say on live television.

Leavitt, who is 27 years old, has been one of Trump’s loudest defenders during his second term. A day earlier, during a White House press briefing, she said, “President Trump has brokered, on average, about one peace deal or ceasefire per month during his six months in office. It’s well past time that President Trump was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.”

That praise didn’t take long to boomerang.

Online, the reactions were quick and brutal. “This definitely sounds like something Jeffrey Epstein’s best friend would say,” one person posted. Others accused Trump of being “creepy,” “gross,” and “totally inappropriate.”

Another person asked a simple question: “Will ANYONE in the mainstream media ask him or the White House about this incredibly bizarre, creepy, cringey comment?”

Probably not. Not the ones who still take Trump seriously.

Leavitt’s path to this job has been fast and loyal. She worked on Trump’s 2024 campaign. After his re-election, she became press secretary. She is the youngest person to hold the position in U.S. history.

She is also one of the loudest voices behind the claim that Trump deserves a Nobel Prize. She regularly speaks about Trump’s “global peace record,” even though much of it has not been verified by international watchdogs.

In January, she married Nicholas Riccio, a 59-year-old real estate developer. The wedding took place just days before Trump’s second inauguration.

Trump’s comments on Leavitt cross a line that most people in any workplace would know not to cross. But this is not any workplace. And Trump is not just any boss.

This is a man who regularly calls women names. A man who once said he could do anything to women because he was famous. A man who has been accused by dozens of women of inappropriate behavior.
