Donald Trump’s coin toss at the Army–Navy game didn’t go unnoticed—mostly because of how unusual it looked.
The president took part in the ceremonial coin toss before kickoff, a long-standing ritual usually carried out with little drama. But Trump’s version was anything but routine.
Rather than giving the coin a confident flick, Trump appeared to gently toss it upward, almost lobbing it into the air. The coin barely spun before landing on the grass. Moments later, he pointed down at it, as if to emphasize the result or perhaps confirm it had actually landed.
The outcome itself was clear enough. Army won the toss. But the delivery stole the show.

“A lot of people are saying it was the greatest…they said Mr. President, we’ve never seen a coin flip as good as that before. Joe Biden…I call him Lyin’ Biden, have you heard that before? Lyin’ Biden, he couldn’t toss a coin like that, I tell you what.”

Trump’s presence at the game followed tradition. Sitting U.S. presidents and former commanders-in-chief have long attended the Army–Navy matchup, a rivalry that dates back more than a century. The game is one of the most symbolic events in American sports, celebrating military service, discipline, and national pride.
