A lot of people hate Donald Trump. They hate him for his endless lies. They hate him for his cruelty toward immigrants. They hate him for the chaos he brings into politics every single day. On Sunday, August 31, 2025, one protester showed that hate with one very clear gesture.

After a four-day absence from the public eye, President Trump reappeared heading to the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia. His absence had sparked widespread speculation about his health, including rumors of his death, especially after he hadn’t been seen since a Tuesday cabinet meeting.

The White House had also released a blank Labor Day weekend schedule, fueling further concerns. However, Trump was spotted during the weekend playing golf with his granddaughter, Kai, helping to quell the rumors.

As Trump’s motorcade departed the White House for his typical Sunday trip to the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia, a lone driver raised their middle finger. Pool reporter Emily Goodin noted, “There was one person in a car who gave the motorcade the middle finger as it drove by.” Photos showed Trump in the back of the limo, looking down at his phone, and it is unclear if he saw the gesture.

At the golf club, the crowd outside reflected a clear division. “Outside the club there were two protesters on one side of the street and about a dozen supporters cheering and waving Trump signs and American flags on the other side,” Goodin wrote.

When Trump left the club, the scene changed again. The motorcade rolled past a few people who made friendlier gestures. “A few supporters along the route gave the thumbs up sign and one gentleman pumped his raised fist as the motorcade passed by,” Goodin wrote.

In just one short outing, Trump’s motorcade faced strong reactions from the public. Anger and support were on full display. Every movement drew attention. He cannot go outside without provoking a reaction. Even a quiet day of golf becomes a spectacle that captures everyone’s eyes.
