Wouldn’t you know, Trump is out here telling on himself again.
In a completely unhinged series of posts made to his struggling Truth Social platform, the scandal-ridden former president openly admitted to the world that he did, in fact, keep government materials, many of which core “classified” and “confidential” markings. However, he is now insisting (in what appears to be his newest line of unhinged desperation) that he only kept the folders, not the classified materials contained in them, and now claims that he only kept them as a “cool keepsake.”
I genuinely couldn’t make this up if I tried.
The rent-free living space that’s available in Donald Trump’s head has once again been taken up by his Mar-a-Lago document scandal, after the news broke that a handful of classified materials were discovered (and immediately turned over to the proper authorities) at President Biden’s old office, hailing from his time as Obama’s vice president, and his Delaware home. Even since the Biden document ordeal hit the media cycle, Trump has desperately attempted to use the news as “proof” to essentially say, “Hey! Look! What I did wasn’t actually so bad after all!”

Of course, Trump is completely skimming over the very blatant fact that, while President Biden and his team immediately turned over the materials to the authorities upon their discovery and have been in complete cooperation since, the washed-up former guy stole thousands of documents, hoarded them away at his Palm Beach estate turned post-White House personal residence, and proceeded to lie to the National Archives and Records Administrations repeatedly regarding his possession of the materials, to a point that NARA and the Justice Department were left with literally no other choice but to execute an FBI search and seizure warrant raid at his compound, following a year of attempting to recover them with no success or cooperation from the former president.
But I digress.
Trump took to Truth Social to claim that the reports about the highly-classified, top-secret materials he stole and hoarded at his golf resort were incorrect. He took things a step further still when he seemed to try a new defense on for size, as he claimed that he didn’t even actually take the documents themselves at all, but just the marked folders, because he thought they were “cool” and would make a good “keepsake” from his term.
“The Fake News Media & Crooked Democrats (That’s been proven!) keep saying I had a ‘large number of documents’ in order to make the Biden Classified Docs look less significant,” the former guy fumed in a whiney Truth Social post. “When I was in the Oval Office, or elsewhere, & ‘papers’ were distributed to groups of people & me, they would often be in a striped paper folder with ‘Classified’ or ‘Confidential’ or another word on them. When the session was over, they would collect the paper(s), but not the folders, & I saved hundreds of them.”
But believe me, it didn’t end there. In a second post, Trump went on to rage, “Remember, these were just ordinary, inexpensive folders with various words printed on them, but they were a ‘cool’ keepsake. Perhaps the Gestapo took some of these empty folders when they Raided Mar-a-Lago, & counted them as a document, which they are not. It’s also possible that the Trump Hating Marxist Thugs in charge will ‘plant’ documents while they’re in possession of the material. As President, and based on the Presidential Records Act & Socks Case, I did NOTHING WRONG. JOE DID!”
He came in hot with a third Truth post in his ranting series, writing, “Biden is being treated so much better than me, I’m shocked (not really!). Why aren’t they raiding his house, & how come his representatives and lawyers are allowed to work together with the Gestopo in looking for documents, when my lawyers & representatives were not allowed anywhere near the search. We weren’t even allowed to know what they took when they raided my home. ‘Please leave the premises,’ they said, & then lugged out everything they could, including my Passports & Med Recs.”
The desperation has gotten pathetic at this point.
