Donald Trump went on a posting spree this week that was strange, even by his own standards.

On his Truth Social page, the president shared a series of bizarre images. One showed him in full SWAT gear.

Another showed Trump surrounded by lightning bolts, with giant eyes painted in stars and stripes filling the sky above him. The style echoed the QAnon conspiracy movement, which falsely portrays him as a hero fighting a secret “deep state.”

For years, Trump tried to keep some distance from QAnon, claiming only a vague knowledge of the group. But in 2025, that distance looks gone. His posts are now fully embracing the imagery and slogans of the conspiracy.

The images quickly went viral. They spread far beyond Truth Social.

The timing of the posts makes people even more uneasy. In June, the White House said Trump has a condition called chronic venous insufficiency. It makes his legs swell. Photos also showed bruises on his hand, with makeup used to hide them. Doctors said he is still in “excellent health.”

In August, more questions came. Trump spoke in public but often rambled, repeated himself, and sometimes did not finish his thoughts. Experts from Cornell and Johns Hopkins said some of this behavior was a warning sign. Trump denied it. He said he is “as sharp as ever.”

This week’s images have reopened the debate. To many, they look less like political messaging and more like the fantasy of a man slipping further into paranoia.
