President Donald Trump has unveiled a fresh face for the famed “Lincoln Bathroom” at the White House — and it’s now entirely polished marble.

Posting on his platform, Truth Social, Trump shared several photos showing the Lincoln Bathroom before and after the renovation. “I renovated the Lincoln Bathroom in the White House,” he wrote. “It was renovated in the 1940s in an art deco green tile style, which was totally inappropriate for the Lincoln Era.”

He added: “I did it in black and white polished Statuary marble. This was very appropriate for the time of Abraham Lincoln and, in fact, could be the marble that was originally there!”

The bathroom sits in what is known as the Lincoln Bedroom suite, a space in the White House long associated with President Abraham Lincoln. While the room has been refurbished multiple times, experts note that many changes date back to the late 1940s.

Trump’s renovation of this bathroom is part of a broader push. According to reports, he has also overhauled the adjoining “Palm Room,” replacing old, cracked floor tiles with statuary marble and upgrading lighting and fixtures.

Beyond interiors, the president is overseeing a major expansion of the East Wing. Demolition began in mid‑October, with heavy machinery tearing into the façade and columns to make way for a 90,000‑square‑foot ballroom. By late October, much of the structure had already been removed, raising eyebrows since Trump had previously suggested the existing building would remain intact.

While the renovation is impressive on its own, many people online aren’t buying Trump’s claim that the marble is historically “Lincoln‑appropriate.” Some point out that groceries are skyrocketing while he’s fussing over tiles.
