Trump Praises Marine Veteran Who Accepted Heroism Award While Wearing A “Let’s Go Brandon” Shirt

Such a petty man.

Former President Donald Trump stooped to a new low after he released a statement to point out that the heroic Marine veteran, James Kilcer, who thwarted an attempted armed burglary, was wearing a “Let’s go Brandon” t-shirt which is a euphemism for “F*ck Joe Biden.”

The ‘Let’s Go Brandon” chant started after Brandon Brown won his first Xfinity race and was interviewed afterward, with fans chanting in the stands. The reporter during the interview misheard the chant and said the fans were chanting, “Let’s go, Brandon.” And honestly, Trump supporters aren’t very original. Most of their slogans and chants have been done before.

Imagine former President Barack Obama tweeting out daily criticisms of his successor. Trump supporters would have lost their minds, and rightfully so. It’s petty, it’s juvenile, and it’s anti-American.

On Tuesday morning, Sheriff Leon Wilmont presented Kilcer the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office Citizen’s Valor Award at a recognition ceremony. The veteran Marine was wearing the “Let’s go Brandon” t-shirt. The twice-impeached former president released a statement tweeted out by his spokesperson Liz Harrington to circumvent his ban on the behemoth social site to acknowledge that Kilcer was wearing the t-shirt.

Twitter users piled in.

Look, it’s OK that Kilcer isn’t a Biden supporter, but can we raise the bar a little bit, please? I thought the video of him thwarting the armed robbery was pretty impressive. Still, when we inject politics into everything, it isn’t helpful in this toxic climate, but if he insists, thanks for proving that it doesn’t take a good guy with a gun to stop a bad guy with a gun, Mr. Kilcer.
