Trump Publicly Defends Police In Speech Just Miles Away From Where George Floyd Was Killed: “Your Police Are Great, But It’s That They Weren’t Allowed To Do What They’re Supposed To”

And people wonder why we're still protesting...

It’s been nearly three months since George Floyd, an unarmed black man accused of using a counterfeit bill, was murdered in the streets of Minneapolis, Minnesota, by police officer Derek Chauvin and a few of his colleagues who stood idly by as Chauvin pressed his knee into the back of Floyd’s neck for nearly ten minutes — until Floyd took his last breath, screaming “Please! I can’t breathe!”

Americans from coast to coast took to the street in every town, city, and suburb pretty much immediately after Floyd’s death to protest the police brutality and systemic racism in this country that has allowed Floyd’s murder and so many others like it to continue to take place.

Now that Chauvin has been arrested, jailed, and charged (along with his accomplices and thanks in large part to the mass protests across the country) many people, namely on the Conservative side, want to know why people are still in the streets.

Well, here is their answer:

What you just watched was a video of the current United States President Donald Trump, standing just miles away from the spot where George Floyd lost his life at the hands of a Minneapolis police officer, delivering a speech in MN business owners, in which he blatantly, publicly, and proudly defended the city’s police force.

Trump started off by bashing the protesters in the city and complaining that MN didn’t “call in the National Guard” against them sooner.

He then declared (again, I remind you, standing just miles away from where George Floyd was murdered), “You have very good police, but they’re told not to do anything. It’s not the police. Your police are great, but it’s that they weren’t allowed to do what they’re supposed to.”

Eerily reminiscent of “Very fine people on both sides”, don’t you think?

We’re not leaving the streets until that guy leaves the White House. Period.
