Donald Trump has been taking shots at musician Bad Bunny for several months, including when the entertainer hosted Saturday Night Live last year and joked that the audience had “four months to learn Spanish.”
When Bad Bunny performed, the show got reasonably good reviews. But not from Trump, who took to Truth Social almost immediately to trash the performance.
“The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence. Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World. This “Show” is just a “slap in the face” to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day,” Trump said on Truth Social.

The rest of the post was merely Trump bragging about his accomplishments, before complaining once again about the NFL’s kickoff rule.
“…including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History! There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show and watch, it will get great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD — And, by the way, the NFL should immediately replace its ridiculous new Kickoff Rule. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
The Bad Bunny halftime indeed received positive reviews, including from the Associated Press.

And on Sunday, he made it clear that his global popularity translates seamlessly to the biggest stage in the U.S.,” the AP said. “Consider Bad Bunny’s 2026 halftime performance the cherry on top of a huge moment for the 31-year-old global superstar, who just 10 years ago was working at an Econo supermarket in Puerto Rico.”
