Donald Trump is obsessed with Time magazine covers, so much so that he hung a fabricated magazine cover in at least four of the “president’s” clubs around the world. To Trump, appearance is everything even if it’s fake. Trump was even removed from Forbes 400 list of America’s richest people “after inventing a fake persona to lie about a transfer of wealth from his father.”
Trump has repeatedly lashed out at Time, probably because he’s obsessed with former President Barack Obama who has graced the magazine’s cover dozens of times. But now, Trump has a new obsession: teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg.
Trump was a finalist for Time magazine’s Person of the Year, but the 16-year-old Swedish activist, who has Asperger’s syndrome, won the award, and the “president” lost his shit on Twitter — because of course he did.
Time magazine did choose Trump as its Person of the Year in 2016, but for what editor Nancy Gibbs called “the scale of his disruption . . . for reminding America that demagoguery feeds on despair and that truth is only as powerful as the trust in those who speak it.” The 2016 issue featured an image of Trump with the cover line, “Donald Trump: President of the Divided States of America.”
In 2017, Trump tweeted that he turned Time down as Person of the Year, and said “Thanks anyway!” and that’s kind of weird since it never happened.
Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named “Man (Person) of the Year,” like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot. I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!

But, all of the aforementioned pales in comparison to Trump, along with his eldest son, lashing out at the teenage climate activist after she won the coveted award. Then, of course, Trump’s Be Best-y wife gave her husband a pass.
