Trump Says ‘Law Enforcement Is Coming’ After Alleging ‘Cheating’ In Philadelphia, But Local Police Department Says No Issues Exist

The former president has made more baseless claims about "cheating" in battleground states.

Donald Trump spent the aftermath of the 2020 election alleging “cheating” and “voter fraud” in the numerous battleground states that he lost, none of which ever ended up checking out, usually in big cities like Philadelphia, Milwaukee, Atlanta, and Detroit. And he’s continued making such claims ever since, lack of evidence notwithstanding.

Now, on Election Day in 2024, Trump has started early with the 2024 version of the claims, once again without anything resembling evidence for his claims.

On his Truth Social account on the afternoon of Election Day, Trump stated that there is “A lot of talk about massive CHEATING in Philadelphia. Law Enforcement coming!!!” Trump was not specific about exactly what “cheating” had taken place, nor did he cite a source for the supposed “lot of talk” about it.

However, per CNN’s reporter Holmes Lybrand, there have been no such reports in the Philadelphia area of such cheating, with both the Philadelphia Police Department and the Philadelphia District Attorney’s office making clear that there have been no reports about such “cheating.”

“The only talk about massive cheating has come from one of the candidates, Donald J. Trump,” Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner said in a statement Tuesday. “There is no factual basis whatsoever within law enforcement to support this wild allegation. We have invited complaints and allegations of improprieties all day. If Donald J. Trump has any facts to support his wild allegations, we want them now. Right now. We are not holding our breath.”

Krasner had spent the day in court Monday, trying to block Elon Musk’s scheme to give away $1 million to residents when they registered to vote, although Musk was ultimately victorious.

A pair of Philadelphia city commissioners had also denied the cheating claims:

Trump also, on Tuesday afternoon, made a similar comment about Detroit, also without any evidence of real wrongdoing:
