During an interview on Real America’s Voice, Trump said something he probably wasn’t supposed to. While attacking Democrats and complaining about old investigations, he said, “They’ve been running these files, and so much of the things that we found were fake with me.” Just like that, Trump confirmed what many people already suspected—his name appears in the Epstein files.

For years, Trump pushed the story that Epstein’s case was all about the Democrats. He told his supporters that the truth was being hidden and promised to bring everything out. But on Friday, when the Justice Department filed a request to unseal grand jury records from Epstein’s criminal case, Trump quickly changed his tune.

He called the case a “SCAM” and said it “should end, right now.” That came just one day after he told Attorney General Pam Bondi to release anything “credible” from the grand jury. One moment, he wanted the truth out. Next, he wanted the whole thing shut down.
The Justice Department said the case is a matter of public interest. They want to release transcripts from the grand jury, which handled Epstein’s charges in New York. These files are normally kept secret, but officials believe the public deserves to know more. Even so, a federal judge still has to approve the release.
Now, Trump doesn’t seem to want that to happen.
His press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, tried to clean it up. She blamed Democrats for not being open about Epstein, even though Epstein died in 2019 while Trump was still president. She also said Trump won’t appoint a special prosecutor, and that the Justice Department will handle everything.
But Trump’s behavior tells a different story.
This isn’t the first time he’s changed his message. He once said the Epstein scandal was fake. Then he told his supporters to stop asking questions. Now he’s trying to discredit the files by blaming others.
The Justice Department already said they won’t release certain materials that include private details or anything involving victims. Earlier this year, they promised to release more records after removing sensitive parts. But earlier this month, they changed direction and said many of the documents are still sealed by the court.
