Trump opened his Thanksgiving post with a cheerful greeting. Almost immediately, he began criticizing immigrants and political rivals, saying, “American Citizens and Patriots who have been so nice in allowing our Country to be divided, disrupted, carved up.”
After that, he said he wanted to “permanently pause migration” from “all Third World Countries.” He linked this to a fatal shooting in Washington, D.C. The suspect is an Afghan man.
Trump then talked again about Somalia. He complained that America was being too “Politically Correct” with immigration. This led to his attack on Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
Earlier that day, Trump told reporters, “Somalians have caused a lot of trouble.” He also said, “We’re not taking their people anymore. We’re getting a lot of their people out because they’re nothing but trouble.”

Trump has made similar claims before. Last week, he said Minnesota is a “hub of fraudulent money laundering activity.” He also said Somali residents should go “back to where they came from.”
On Thursday night, he wrote that there were “hundreds of thousands” of Somali refugees “completely taking over” Minnesota.
Then he used a very offensive slur.
He said, “Somalian gangs are roving the streets looking for ‘prey’ as our wonderful people stay locked in their apartments and houses hoping against hope that they will be left alone.”
He added, “The seriously ret—ed Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, does nothing, either through fear, incompetence, or both.”
Walz responded on X. He reposted Trump’s message and wrote, “Release the MRI results.” This message referred to Trump’s recent medical check-up. Trump said he had an MRI but did not explain why. This has led to new questions about his health.
Trump then went after Rep. Ilhan Omar. She was born in Somalia but has lived in the U.S. for 30 years. Trump called her “the worst ‘Congressman/woman’ in our Country.” He also said she was “always wrapped in her swaddling hijab.”
He continued by saying she “does nothing but hatefully complain about our Country… and how ‘badly’ she is treated.” He called her birthplace a “decadent, backward, and crime ridden nation.”
Trump also blamed President Joe Biden for the Afghan suspect’s arrival in the U.S. But CNN reported that the suspect “applied for asylum in 2024, and it was granted by the Trump administration in April 2025.” When a reporter pointed this out, Trump called her “stupid.”
Trump then returned to immigration in his Truth Social post. He wrote that America and “certain other foolish countries” were being “just plain STUPID.” He claimed that most immigrants were on welfare and came from “failed nations or from prisons, mental institutions, gangs, or drug cartels.”
He added that these people were being supported by “massive” welfare payments from “patriotic” Americans. He said these Americans “do not want to openly complain or cause trouble in any way, shape, or form.”
Trump said he wanted to “deport any Foreign National who is a public charge, security risk, or non-compatible with Western Civilization.” He also said “only REVERSE MIGRATION can fully cure this situation.”
His post ended with one last line. “Other than that, HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL, except those that hate, steal, murder, and destroy everything that America stands for — You won’t be here for long!”
