Recently, we reported on a damning analysis from Vice, confirming that scandal-ridden ex-President Donald Trump is “all but certain” to be formally indicted on yet another round of criminal charges this coming summer — which will historically serve as the second time that Trump, and any former or current United States president for that matter, will face an official indictment on criminal charges.
This is so undoubted at this point, in fact, that Vice says, “You could even mark it in your calendar.”
But nevertheless, as Donald Trump faces down what will likely be his second round of historical criminal charges, new reporting has confirmed that the disgraced former guy is seemingly trying to stage a comeback in the Peach State.
According to a new report from the local Atlanta Journal-Constitution, ex-President Trump is slated to appear and speak at the Georgia state GOP convention in June. As the publication points out, this impending appearance next month will serve as the first time Donald Trump has shown his face in the state of Georgia since the former NY real estate “mogul” turned reality TV wash-up, turned disgraced ex-president officially launched his third consecutive bid for office. This upcoming appearance also comes amid the recent explosive reporting that confirmed 8 out of the 16 fake “electors” who were involved in the plot to wrongfully declare Donald Trump the winner of the 2020 presidential election in the state of Georgia have turned on the ex-president in exchange for immunity deals from Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis who is heading the state’s criminal investigation into Trump’s alleged election crimes in the southern swing state.

The local outlet reports, “The gathering will bring together more than 1,000 Republican activists from across the state, which Democrats captured in the last presidential race for the first time in almost three decades. Georgia is one of a small handful of states that both parties view as competitive on the 2024 electoral map.”
“A divide over Trump has caused enduring fissures among state Republicans, as Gov. Brian Kemp and other key officials try to steer the party away from the former president. Even as they promote that vision, the state GOP has emerged as a key bastion of his most ardent supporters,” the report goes on to add, citing Donald’s infamous and ongoing feud with some of Georgia’s top most officials over his election grievances. “That’s partly because its led by David Shafer, a former state Senate leader who won the GOP chairmanship in 2019 after narrowly losing a runoff for lieutenant governor. In 2022, Shafer openly supported Trump-backed challengers to Republican incumbents, angering many mainstream leaders and their supporters. He also could face charges in the Fulton County probe for helping to engineer the pro-Trump fake elector slate.”
Nevertheless, the AJC notes in their report that Trump is still managing to lead over his most notable GOP rivals in the Peach State.
