It has been a busy and unusual week for President Donald Trump. He has praised New York City mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, criticized former ally Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, and showed off a new, unexpected look.
Trump, known for his black and blue suits with bright ties, surprised reporters on Nov. 22 by wearing a burgundy scarf and a long black wool coat. Journalist Aaron Rupar wrote on X, “quite a look for Trump today.”

The president was traveling to Andrews Air Force Base to meet golf legend Jack Nicklaus.

At the base, Trump talked about Nicklaus’s plans to rebuild two golf courses and other recreational facilities. Trump, who owns 12 golf courses across the U.S., said the government courses were “in very bad shape.”
Trump also took a moment to address Marjorie Taylor Greene’s resignation. Greene announced her departure from Congress on Nov. 21 and will leave her seat on Jan. 5. “I just disagreed with her philosophy,” Trump told reporters.
He added, “She started backing perhaps the worst Republican congressman in our history, you know the stupid person named Massie. I said go your own way and once I left her, she resigned because she never would’ve survived a primary, but I think she’s a nice person.”
Greene, for her part, posted on social media, “I’m going back to the people I love, to live life to the fullest as I always have.”
Trump’s comments came shortly after a widely noted Oval Office meeting with Zohran Mamdani. Once a harsh critic of Mamdani, Trump appeared to soften his stance.
In the past, he called for Mamdani’s arrest if he didn’t help with immigration policies and opposed federal funding to New York because of Mamdani’s politics.
Now, Trump said, “I expect to be helping him, not hurting him – a big help, because I want New York City to be great.” He added, “He wants to see housing go up, see a lot of housing created, apartments built… People would be shocked, but I want to see the same thing.”
