Some Trump supporters are jumping ship.

There have always been some Donald Trump supporters, or even those who voted for him reluctantly, who have jumped off the bus at various points.

But in recent weeks, the launch of the sort of war that Trump had long promised to avoid, as well as surging oil prices, have caused some who voted for Trump to lose faith. Others have complained about Trump’s handling of the Epstein Files disclosures, while also realizing that the costs of tariffs have been passed on to the consumer.

According to Buzzfeed, a critical mass is starting to build for that view.

“Your first term was great. This whole second term has been a complete disaster and I voted for you,” one commenter on Trump’s Facebook page said. “Groceries aren’t cheaper, rates are still insane, gas is still expensive, the cost of living in this country continues to rise… My life has not changed one bit since you took over again, you’re no better than Biden. How about actually putting Americans first for once? Instead of worrying about all these foreign wars and leaders.”

Another, per Buzzfeed, asked Trump, “These ‘HUGE TAX CUTS’ TRUMP keeping lying about I want to ask people I know! Are you seeing these thousands of extra dollars he keeps talking about if filed your taxes yet?”

Another posted the following to Facebook: “Dear President Trump, I’m Seriously Starting To Regret Voting For You Because You Have A Lot Of Nerve Letting The US Of A Federal Government Get Away With Making Me Suffer By Changing Medicare Guidelines Every Year!… You can take your copays & stick them up your ass!”

According to the RealClearPolling average, Trump’s approval rating is now -10.3, with all polls listed on the site showing Trump underwater, with the exception of the pro-Republican Trafalgar Group poll, which has Trump at +2. It’s not the lowest average of Trump’s second presidency, as it has fallen as low as -13 on a couple of occasions over the years. But the average has now listed Trump in negative territory for nearly a full year, as March 12, 2025 was the day Trump slipped below zero, and has stayed there ever since.
