Trump’s Approval Crashes To The Lowest Point Of His New Term In Stunning Freefall

Trump's polls have hit an all-time low.

Maybe it’s the continuing high prices, the Jeffrey Epstein drumbeat, or perhaps just encroaching Trump fatigue. But Donald Trump’s approval rating has now hit a new second-term low.

According to The Daily Beast, which cited polling from Ipsos/Reuters, Trump’s approval rating has slipped to just 38 percent. In comparison, even his popularity among Republicans has dropped from 87 percent to 82 percent.

“Polling data from Ipsos/Reuters shows a steady slump in the president’s popularity since his return to office, dropping nine points from his high of 47 percent in January to come almost level with Joe Biden’s all-time low of 35 percent,” the Beast reported.

The poll asked explicitly about the Epstein question.
“Just 20 percent of Americans, including only 44 percent of Republicans, said they approve of the president’s handling of the Epstein situation,” The Daily Beast said. “An overwhelming majority of Americans, including 87 percent of Democrats and 60 percent of Republicans, also said they believe the government is hiding information about Epstein’s clients.'”
But one expert quoted by the Beast, Republican strategist Doug Heye, thought the plunging ratings were more about rising costs.
“It’s all about prices,” Heye said. “People are furious when they go out and spend money at the grocery store, and they can’t believe what they are spending.”
It’s a similar story in the RealClearPolling average, which shows Trump’s disapproval rating at 54.9 percent and his approval rating at 43.1 percent, a spread of -11.8. It’s only slightly better than the average of a couple of days earlier, of -12.4 percent, which was the worst of Trump’s second presidency. Trump has been underwater in the RealClearPolling average since early March. In the current polls, every one of them has him in the red, including Republican-leaning polls that are usually more favorable to him.

He’s -4 in the normally pro-Republican Rasmussen Reports poll, while an AP-NORC poll taken earlier this month has him at the worst of anything in the average, at -26.
