Can’t mask the obvious flaws

Swollen ankles. Bulging socks. And suddenly, the internet won’t stop talking.

A new photo of President Donald Trump’s legs, showing noticeable swelling over his shoes, has taken social media by storm this week.

@factpostnews shared the image with the caption, “New photo reveals Trump’s ankle is once again swollen.”

Reactions came fast, fierce, and in every direction.

Trump’s ankle swelling has been documented before. In July 2025, the White House said he has chronic venous insufficiency, or CVI. It is a common condition for older adults, where veins in the legs struggle to pump blood back to the heart. This causes fluid buildup in the ankles and calves, leading to swelling, aches, and sometimes skin changes.

Doctors said his case is “benign and common” and suggested simple measures like compression socks, elevating the legs, exercising, and maintaining a healthy weight.

But recent photos show just how noticeable the swelling can be. Images from a July 2025 soccer game and a February 2026 podcast appearance already triggered jokes and online chatter.

The attention kept rolling in at the World Economic Forum in January 2026, and again during Trump’s March 3 Oval Office meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, where his ankles were once again in the spotlight.
