Donald Trump just canโt seem to help himself when it comes to digging his own hole that much deeper.
In a rather self-damning recent social media post, the scandal-plagued and 34-time felony-convicted former president seemed to open himself to serious accusations of once again breaking a serious federal law after he publicized a letter he claims to have received from a prominent foreign figure.
Trump took to his Truth Social platform and posted a copy of a letter he says he received from a surprising source: none other than Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas.
Itโs worth noting here that Donald Trump has regularly used the word โPalestinianโ as a slur against his political and personal enemies.
But I digressโฆ

In the letter, Abbas writes to Donald Trump: โIt is with grave concern that I have received news and later on watched footage of your attempted assassination. Acts of violence must not have a place in a world of law and order.โ
Trump penned a response to the letter in his infamous black Sharpie marker, reading, โSo nice โ thank you. Everything will be good.โ
As everyone is aware right now, Palestine is deeply embroiled in a high-level conflict with Israel and the United Statesโ involvement in that conflict is a hot topic among Americans right now.
A large portion of Trumpโs comments section on his hand-tailored social media platform were not only less than impressed with the correspondence he received from the Palestinian leader but went so far as to accuse Donald of publishing proof that he was actively violating the Logan Act โ a United States federal law that criminalizes the negotiation of a dispute between the United States and a foreign government by an unauthorized American citizen, meant to prevent private citizens from undermining the governmentโs official position in high-level conflicts.
The outrage and accusations quickly spread to other social media platforms as the ex-presidentโs post was shared to X (formerly known as Twitter):
Apparently, bibi is going to make a special trip to Mar-A-Lago to hang out with Trump. How is this allowed to happen? Doesnโt think directly violate the Logan act? pic.twitter.com/zKcq7K4rl5

Correct me if Iโm wrong, but doesnโt this violate the Logan Act??
Maybe we shouldnโt be voting for someone trying to speak with foreign government officials while not holding public office? Just a thought ๐#Kamala2024 @KamalaHQ pic.twitter.com/2oTQxxWGOf

Convicted criminals shouldnโt be allowed to host world leaders. Besides, doesnโt this violate the Logan Act? Do we have laws anymore? pic.twitter.com/omqznCziNL

The Logan Act prohibits private citizens from engaging in foreign policy. Why is the DOJ letting Trump get away with this? pic.twitter.com/hLWZJgwrdi

Youโre making it worse for yourself, Donald.
