Trump’s Own Base Is Turning On Him After Iran War Sparks Fury And Betrayal: ‘He Could Be Impeached’

Early Saturday, the United States and Israel launched major strikes across Iran, and President Trump called it war, accusing Iran of “mass terror” and saying the attacks would target its military and aim to topple the regime.

“The lives of courageous American heroes may be lost, and we may have casualties, that often happens in war,” he said. “But we’re doing this not for now – we’re doing this for the future, and it is a noble mission.”

That tone did not sit well with everyone who once cheered him.

For years, Trump campaigned as the president who would end “endless wars.” He mocked past administrations for wasting trillions overseas. He promised a focus on America first, not regime change abroad.

Now, the word “impeached” is floating around conservative circles.

The strikes were deadly. More than 200 people are believed to have been killed, according to the Iranian Red Crescent. That number may rise. The Pentagon confirmed that three service members were killed and five more seriously wounded. Iranian state media reported that a strike on a girls’ elementary school killed at least 148 people and wounded 95 others. The New York Times said Iranian media believe many of the dead are likely children.

And while the bombs were falling, Trump was seen dancing to “God Bless the USA” at a gala at his resort.

That image spread fast.

The war has exposed a real crack inside MAGA. Tucker Carlson, once one of Trump’s loudest champions, called the attacks “absolutely disgusting and evil.” He warned it could reshape the political map in a “profound way.”

Curt Mills of The American Conservative described Trump’s leadership as an “imperial presidency.” He said Trump’s 2024 appeal was rooted in an “anti-globalist, anti-imperial” message. Now, Mills argues, the administration looks like it is doing “wars for foreign countries.” He even warned Republicans could lose the Senate and said, “He could be impeached for any of these things.”

Others were far more direct.

Dave Smith said Trump “has betrayed the American people and his own base.”

Rich Baris wrote that regime change does not suddenly become good policy “just because Donald Trump did it.”

Andrew Tate reacted in all caps: “NOBODY WANTS THIS WAR.”

Blake Neff shared messages from right-leaning friends: “F*** this.” “This is extremely depressing.” “Never voting in a national election again.”

Even Marjorie Taylor Greene, once fiercely loyal, called the administration “sick f**king liars.” She posted a clip comparing Trump to Lord Farquaad from Shrek: “Some of you may die, but it’s a sacrifice I am willing to make.”
