Trump’s Saturday Rant: A Full-Throttle Attack – ‘Terminate’ Obamacare Proposal

Another confused plan

President Donald Trump spent his Saturday morning online again, typing out a new plan to “terminate” Obamacare.

His post came while the country faced a growing government shutdown and his party tried to make sense of their election losses earlier in the week.

Trump went on Truth Social with a long post that laid out his plan in full. He wrote:

“I am recommending to Senate Republicans that the Hundreds of Billions of Dollars currently being sent to money sucking Insurance Companies in order to save the bad Healthcare provided by ObamaCare, BE SENT DIRECTLY TO THE PEOPLE SO THAT THEY CAN PURCHASE THEIR OWN, MUCH BETTER, HEALTHCARE, and have money left over. In other words, take from the BIG, BAD Insurance Companies, give it to the people, and terminate, per Dollar spent, the worst Healthcare anywhere in the World, ObamaCare. Unrelated, we must still terminate the Filibuster!”

In essence, Trump said the government should stop giving money to insurance companies, let people buy their own coverage, and end Obamacare entirely, all while keeping up his call to eliminate the filibuster.

The idea sounded bold but confusing. Trump never explained how people would buy health care without using insurance companies. He also claimed the government was spending “hundreds of billions” on Obamacare, though the number is much lower. Still, Trump spoke as if his plan could fix everything at once.

The post came at a tense moment. The shutdown had already started to hit daily life. Flights were delayed, federal offices closed, and millions of Americans waiting on food aid were left in limbo.

Inside Washington, frustration was growing, but Trump stayed focused on social media, sending message after message that mixed anger, pride, and defiance.

He told Senate Republicans to “end the shutdown by nuking the filibuster,” saying Democrats were blocking progress on purpose. His rant warned that Democrats were “destroying our great, miracle economy.”

For days, Trump had been insisting that things were going well. He said the economy was booming and prices were falling, even as voters showed signs of doubt. His party’s poor showing in Tuesday’s elections hit him hard. Democrats won key races by talking about affordability and the cost of living, while Trump’s speeches focused on winning and loyalty.

After the losses, Trump looked for new ways to defend his record. He bragged about Walmart’s Thanksgiving meal being cheaper this year, calling it proof that inflation was down. That claim fell apart when it turned out the meal was smaller and missing several dishes.
