Trump’s Schedule For Today Is Released And It’s Not A Good Look

Another day, more golf

Donald Trump spent the day at his golf club. The motorcade pulled into Trump International Golf Club at 9:21 a.m., and the pool watched until he left in the afternoon. There are no public events on his calendar today.

This matters because golf has become a huge part of his time in office. Trackers show Trump has golfed 79 days out of 345 since returning to the White House — about 22.9% of his presidency so far. That is a lot of downtime for a commander-in-chief.

There is also a big price tag.

Using the GAO’s method for estimating travel and security costs, the rough taxpayer bill for those golf trips is put at about $110.6 million since he returned to office. That figure comes from applying GAO trip-cost estimates to the number of golf outings tracked publicly.

For a president in office during a busy holiday stretch, the lack of public engagement stands out. How people read that choice is now playing out online.
