While speaking at the White House on Wednesday, President Donald Trump, 79, appeared to stumble over his words during an event honoring him as the “Undisputed Champion of Coal.”
It happened as Trump was praising the coal industry and celebrating what supporters described as a major energy victory.
“I’m proud to officially name the undispuut…” Trump said, before drifting into unclear, mumbled words for a couple of seconds.
He then paused and asked, “When did this come out? Mr. Speaker,” before correcting himself and continuing, “The undisputed champion of beautiful, clean coal.”
Within minutes, video of the moment began circulating online. Detractors wondered if the president faltered during the address, while allies brushed it off as a small slip of the tongue.

The event itself was designed to spotlight Trump’s support for fossil fuels. He was presented with a trophy by the Washington Coal Club and praised for promoting “energy dominance.”
However, the speech soon shifted in another direction.
As he spoke about energy policy, Trump took aim at wind power.
“I’m not a big fan of those crazy windmills,” he said, spinning his finger in the air to mimic a turbine. “They’re made in China but not used by China. Let’s look for a couple of wind farms in China. See if you can find one.”
In reality, China is one of the world’s largest producers of wind and solar energy, with vast renewable projects already in operation and under construction.
Still, Trump pressed on. He called wind turbines “losers” and added, “You’re supposed to make money with energy, not lose money with energy.”
Meanwhile, viewers also noticed something else. Photos from the event appeared to show discoloration on the president’s right hand, which has sparked speculation in past appearances.
The White House quickly rejected any concerns about Trump’s health.
Spokesman Davis Ingle said, “President Trump is the sharpest, most accessible, and energetic president in American history.” He also accused critics of spreading “baseless conspiracy theories.”
But the online reaction was swift.
Kamala Harris’ team reposted the clip, writing: “Trump, slurring: I’m proud to officially name the…undishpu…the…jshhhh…whendidthiscomeout.”
