Recently, Donald Trump was awarded FIFA’s first-ever Peace Prize. The award honors people who have done special work to promote peace in the world. Trump, who has campaigned for a Nobel Peace Prize this year, accepted the honor at a big, celebrity-filled event in Washington.

Even though Trump said he would not attend the 2026 World Cup draw to get any award, FIFA gave it to him anyway. The event was full of glitz, music, and famous faces. Trump dominated the scene, standing in the center while world leaders and stars surrounded him. The Prime Minister of Canada, Mark Carney, and Mexico’s President, Claudia Sheinbaum, were there, but all attention was on Trump.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino acted as host. He had Trump and the other leaders stand behind bright, colorful podiums, almost like a game show.

After the draw, they all posed for selfies with Infantino. The ceremony included performances by Andrea Bocelli, Robbie Williams, and Nicole Scherzinger. American sports stars like Tom Brady, Shaquille O’Neal, Aaron Judge, and Canadian hockey legend Wayne Gretzky were also present. The event ended with a lively performance of “YMCA” by the Village People.

Trump received a large gold-plated trophy and a medal. Infantino praised him for “promoting peace and unity around the world.” Trump congratulated himself during his speech. He said the United States was “not doing too well” before he became president, but now it was “the hottest country anywhere in the world.” He also claimed he had “settled eight wars” in his 10 months in office, though many experts dispute this.

Trump posted his photo from the event on Truth Social, saying: “Such a great honor. Thank you FIFA, and have a historic World Cup!”

People online immediately zoomed in on his makeup. One person reacted: “The makeup is crazy”

Many others followed with playful and critical comments, making the conversation about his look almost as big as the award itself.
