On Thursday, Trump picked a fight with the four people who arguably did the most to normalize him with American voters. By Friday, they had responded in kind and the whole thing looked like a family reunion nobody wanted to attend.
Trump’s Truth Social post targeted Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens and Alex Jones in nearly 500 words of capital letters and personal insults, calling them “NUT JOBS, TROUBLEMAKERS” with “Low IQs” who run “Third Rate Podcasts.” He suggested Carlson, a “hand flailing fool” and “broken man,” seek psychiatric help. He called them all losers. He signed it “President DONALD J. TRUMP.”
Carlson’s response landed Friday morning.
“I’ve always liked Trump and still feel sorry for him, as I do for all slaves,” he said, adding when pressed: “He’s hemmed in by other forces. He can’t make his own decisions. It’s awful to watch.”

Carlson’s morning newsletter went further, writing: “Establishment media never reports this, but the Israeli government has a storied history of blackmailing U.S. presidents.” He conceded he does not know whether Israel is blackmailing Trump, before adding: “He would not have let that happen unless his personal stakes were really high. We hope he overcomes.”
The others were equally enthusiastic. Candace Owens kept it short, writing on X: “It may be time to put Grandpa up in a home.”

Alex Jones, who spent years as one of Trump’s most devoted supporters, called him “a rotting husk of the old Trump” and wrote: “I have made it very clear that I no longer support Trump and I’m very thankful to him for making it clear that I have nothing to do with him.”
I have made it very clear that I no longer support Trump and I’m very thankful to him for making it clear that I have nothing to do with him. The new Trump is a rotting husk of the old Trump.
I hope 47 enjoys Mark Levine being his spirit animal.. https://t.co/qXbHtR0sFB

Megyn Kelly went after Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch for good measure, saying of her former boss: “He will be dead soon.”
The feud traces back to the Iran war, which all four have criticized as reckless and a betrayal of Trump’s America First promises. Carlson called Trump’s Easter post threatening to destroy Iranian power plants “vile on every level.” Jones called him a “dementia risk.” Marjorie Taylor Greene told Infowars the Republican Party needs to be “burned to the ground.”
Cenk Uygur observed on X that Trump had essentially declared that “only Mark Levin is real MAGA and the rest are secret lefties and Iran lovers,” adding: “This is exactly how you kill your own movement.”
Trump just said @TuckerCarlson @megynkelly @RealAlexJones and @RealCandaceO are all low-IQ, losers who are trying to help Iran. Apparently, only @marklevinshow is real MAGA and the rest are secret lefties and Iran lovers. This is exactly how you kill your own movement.
