Stephen Miller, who is currently the White House Deputy Chief of Staff, has been a very powerful adviser to Donald Trump ever since Trump first began running for president. A speechwriter as well as policy adviser, Miller is thought to have long exercised a huge amount of power behind the scenes. He also founded a group called America First Legal Foundation, despite not being a lawyer himself.
But what Miller has never been, is especially good on camera.
A Fox News contributor in between Trump presidencies, Miller now regularly appears on that network to advocate for his boss’ policies today. And he had a bit of a meltdown on Monday when he appeared on The Big Story with Martha MacCallum on the network.

At issue was the Trump Administration’s invocation of the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, to justify some deportations. MacCallum mentioned that Andrew Weissmann, on MSNBC, had argued that that law was intended for wartime use.
“First of all, Andrew Weissmann is an absolute moron,” Miller said on the show. “He is a moron, and he is a fool, and he’s a degenerate. Andrew Weissmann has devoted his career to putting innocent Americans in jail, taking away their civil liberties.”
“He was involved in the Mueller coup against a democratically elected president, Donald J. Trump,” Hiller added. “Weissmann should never be on TV anywhere! He should hang his head in eternal shame for what he’s done to this country!”
The Fox host pushed back, arguing “you can call Weissmann names, and he can call you names, and that’s what’s great about living in America.”
Miller, however, wasn’t backing down.
“This is a tip for Weissmann!” Miller said. “I will defend American lives working for President Trump, and Andrew Weissmann can defend illegal alien rapists, terrorists, and predators! I’ve chosen my side!”
Weissmann, it appears, was defending the principle of due process, as he made clear this week in a Substack post:
Today I’m tackling an issue that’s flown under the radar but deserves our attention. It’s not about the ongoing legal back-and-forth in an important case involving deportation under the Alien Enemies Act—it’s about the politicized language coming from the Attorney General of the United States.
