Usha Vance first hinted at expanding her family months ago when she quietly addressed life in Washington and motherhood while speaking about her marriage and public role.
In a rare interview last December, the Second Lady reflected on her life before politics, noting that “there are things that I miss and things that I’m excited to have moved on from,” a line that hinted at personal transitions amid her high‑profile life.
Now, that quiet suggestion has reached the public eye. On Tuesday, Usha Vance and her husband, Vice President JD Vance, announced that she is pregnant with their fourth child. The couple revealed that their baby will be a boy, expected in late July 2026.
The couple shared the news in a joint social media statement, expressing excitement and gratitude. “We’re very excited to share the news that Usha is pregnant with our fourth child, a boy,” the announcement said. “Usha and the baby are doing well, and we are all looking forward to welcoming him in late July.”

The pregnancy news got strong reactions from critics online. One asked, “That’s so great. Who is the father?”
Another recalled past rumors, saying, “I thought he was porking Erika Kirk?”
A third questioned the impact on others, writing, “How is ERIKA going to take this? 🤔”
Others reacted with disbelief.
One asked about the baby’s name: “Any chance this one gets a white name?”
Another compared the news to a sketch: “This has to be a SNL skit, right?” Another critic expressed shock over the timing: “It wasn’t supposed to go this way…”
At 40, Usha Vance becomes one of the youngest second ladies in recent history to announce a pregnancy while in office. Her family now includes three children: Ewan, 8, Vivek, 5, and Mirabel, 4. Usha and JD Vance have been married since 2014, after first meeting while studying at Yale Law School together. They share a long partnership that has drawn public interest ever since JD Vance entered national politics as a senator and then as vice president.
In recent months, their personal life became a focus after Usha was seen without her wedding ring at a public event last November. That appearance generated speculation online, but Usha’s spokesperson explained it simply as the result of daily life with three young children — “a mother of three young children, who does a lot of dishes, gives lots of baths, and forgets her ring sometimes,” the statement said.
At the time, Usha’s absence of her wedding band came amid a viral moment involving JD Vance and the late Charlie Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, during a Turning Point USA event. Despite online chatter, the couple denied any marital problems, and their recent pregnancy announcement reinforces the ongoing family chapter.
The Vance’s have navigated both political life and family responsibilities. Usha, a former litigator, stepped away from her litigation career to support JD Vance’s rise and focus on raising their children. Their interfaith household, Usha raised in a Hindu family and JD a Catholic convert, has been a noted part of their public image.
