On Sunday, Vice President JD Vance told Fox News with Martha MacCallum that more legal action is coming for people Donald Trump considers his enemies.
The conversation came after former FBI Director James Comey was criminally charged. Vance made it clear this is just the start.
“Well, there’s certainly gonna be more indictments coming over the next three and a half years of the Trump administration, but we’re always going to let the law drive this stuff, and the facts of the case, and not political motivations,” he said.
He said this approach is very different from the Biden administration. “Which frankly makes us so much different from the Biden administration, where they indicted not just the president of the United States but so many people who were engaged in policymaking,” he added.

Some of the people Trump has in his sights include Senator Adam Schiff of California. Schiff led Trump’s first impeachment in 2020. Others are New York Attorney General Letitia James, whose tax fraud case against Trump ended after he won re-election, and Federal Reserve Board member Lisa Cook.
Vance insisted that all these actions are guided by law and facts, not politics.
Senate Republican leader John Thune said the same thing on NBC’s Meet the Press. He said he trusts the courts to decide if Comey acted illegally. “It’s based upon the findings of a grand jury, Kristen,” Thune said. “It was by a jury of his peers. I trust the judicial system and the justice system to figure this out.”
Comey ran the FBI under Obama and Trump. He oversaw major investigations, like the Hillary Clinton email probe and the Trump-Russia investigation. He had repeated conflicts with Trump and was fired in the first year of Trump’s first term.
Trump has repeatedly attacked Comey on Truth Social. “We can’t delay any longer, it’s killing our reputation and credibility. They impeached me twice, and indicted me (5 times!), OVER NOTHING. JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED, NOW!!!” he wrote.
After Comey was charged, Trump added: “JUSTICE IN AMERICA! One of the worst human beings this Country has ever been exposed to is James Comey, the former Corrupt Head of the FBI.”
Trump says he is not running the Justice Department himself. The case is handled by the Eastern District of Virginia. Lindsey Halligan, a 36-year-old acting U.S. attorney with no previous prosecutorial experience, is leading the case. She used to work as a White House aide. One of the three charges against Comey has already been rejected.
