According to a recent report from CNBC, Vice President Kamala Harris’ husband, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff was rushed off the stage and out of a high school where he was giving a speech by Secret Service agents because of a bomb threat.
The Second Gentleman was reportedly at Washington D.C.’s Dunbar High School where he was participating in an event for Black History Month, when agents with his Secret Service detail rushed onto the stage at 2:18 PM to grab Emhoff, telling him something to the effect of “We have to go,” before moving the vice president’s husband from the school’s stage and leading him out of the room and building, per the report.
According to Emhoff’s staff, a bomb threat was reported to the Second Gentleman’s Secret Service detail, prompting the agents to remove Doug from the area according to protocol.
Washington D.C. public school spokesperson Enrique Gutierrez confirmed that the security issue was, in fact, a bomb threat.
