A new video is going viral. It shows President Donald Trump and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen sitting in silence before their joint press event at Turnberry golf course in Scotland. The silence is heavy. The body language says it all.
They are seated side by side, but it feels cold. Ursula sits upright, hands in front of her, calm and firm. Nothing welcoming between them.
What do you notice about the body language between EU President Ursula von der Leyen and Donald Trump before the cameras go on? pic.twitter.com/09LXQ1Dwtt

It was only a few seconds, but people online picked it apart. Trump’s face looked tight. Ursula’s expression was steady. She didn’t flinch. She didn’t blink. She didn’t even look his way. And people noticed.

You can feel it in the silence before the cameras roll.
Trump steps in with his usual dominance games yanking handshakes, puffed-up posture, trying to throw off balance before a word is even spoken. But Ursula von der Leyen doesn’t budge. No flinch. No smile. No submission.…

von der Leyen’s body language says ‘diplomatic patience’, trump’s says ‘where’s my cheeseburger’. but ukraine cares more about F-16s than their awkward small talk.

He’s so surly and unfriendly and she doesn’t really know how to respond. She looks awkward.

Looks more like she’s following protocol only. Honestly, looks like she’d rather be anywhere else. Complete look of disdain.

Trump is known for dominating the room. He uses fast handshakes, big gestures, strong posture. But this time, seated across from a calm and unshaken leader, it didn’t work.
The timing of the moment is also raising eyebrows. This quiet scene came just before they announced a major trade agreement between the United States and the European Union. The new deal includes a 15 percent tariff on most goods. Trump called it “a great deal for everybody.” Ursula said it would “bring stability and predictability.”
But not everyone bought the message. Some believe the deal was rushed to distract from other headlines — especially growing attention around Trump’s connection to Jeffrey Epstein.
In fact, during the press event, a reporter asked Trump if the deal was made quickly to push the Epstein story out of the news. Trump looked angry and shot back, “You gotta be kidding me.” He called it nonsense.
Still, that question and that video clip of silence spread fast. It painted a picture of a man uncomfortable next to someone who didn’t try to please him or play along.
