Donald Trump’s disgraced former national security adviser Michael Flynn appeared at a campaign event for Lin Wood on Sunday. He began reciting the Pledge of Allegiance for the MAGA crowd; however, he appeared to forget the words. Flynn pled guilty in 2017 to lying to the FBI about contact with Russia, so maybe he forgot which country he was pledging allegiance to and got distracted. Trump, of course, pardoned Flynn in late 2020 despite his ex-national security adviser’s guilty plea.
According to The Post and Courier, Flynn appeared at a campaign event for pro-Trump MAGA attorney Lin Wood held at the Honkytonk Saloon in Ladson, South Carolina, for the Bikers for Trump group. Hundreds of Trumpers gathered for the event and participated in the Pledge of Allegiance that Flynn led.
“I want you to hear, not just listen; I want you to hear every single word of the Pledge of Allegiance,” Flynn said to the crowd. “That is our pledge to each other; that is our pledge to this country.”

And, of course, the attendees that were packed into a room together appear to be maskless amid the pandemic. There’s nothing more hypocritical than pledging an oath to the flag while spreading disease in the country they’re swearing an oath to.
