Renee Nicole Good was sitting inside her SUV on a Minneapolis street when federal agents surrounded her.

Moments later, a gunshot rang out. The 37-year-old mother was fatally shot by an ICE agent during what officials described as an immigration enforcement operation on January 7.

Video of the encounter began circulating as agents approached Renee’s vehicle amid shouting and confusion. Within seconds, an agent fired a single shot through the windshield. Renee slumped forward inside the car as bystanders screamed.

ICE claims the agent acted in self-defense, saying Renee attempted to drive toward officers. But many who have watched the video say that the explanation does not add up.

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey reviewed the footage and publicly rejected ICE’s account. He called the self-defense claim “garbage” and demanded that federal immigration agents stop operating in the city.

Renee was a mother of three. Friends say she was a poet, a creative spirit, and a devoted parent. Her family insists she was not violent and did not deserve to die in the street.

Then a second video emerged, deepening the anger.

Footage filmed by eyewitness Emily Heller shows the moments after the shooting. Renee remains inside the SUV as people nearby plead for help.

A woman steps forward and identifies herself as a physician.

“I’m a doctor,” she says, asking if she can assist.

An ICE agent shuts her down.

“I don’t care.”

The doctor is denied access to the wounded woman. Other bystanders are told to “just relax” as Renee lies bleeding inside the vehicle.

The exchange has horrified viewers. Many people called it disgusting and sad.

Protests erupted in Minneapolis within hours. Hundreds gathered for candlelight vigils, holding signs and chanting for justice. Calls for ICE to leave the city grew louder as the videos continued to circulate.
