Was the president having trouble keeping his balance at Monday’s Memorial Day ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery?
Many social media users noticed that, when Donald Trump appeared to wobble, while standing next to Vice President JD Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, both of whom were able to stand more upright.

Per the Irish Star, “Donald Trump found himself in the spotlight for an entirely unexpected reason on Memorial Day with a wobbly display during a solemn ceremony, which overshadowed his earlier political attacks… the noticeable lack of stability quickly ignited a firestorm online, with concerned observers and critics flooding the internet to mock the display or express alarm over his balance.”

“While the rest of the military and political party stood rigidly still in honor of fallen service members, Trump was visibly unsteady on his feet,” the report said.
There were quite a few reactions to that moment:
Trump is holding it in. His shit that is! Ooof. I’d hate to be standing near him. https://t.co/QOcb0mUwt7

The moment at the ceremony followed the news that Trump was headed to Walter Reed Hospital yet again, for what the Washington Post described as “his third scheduled medical checkup in 13 months.”
“Trump, the oldest president to ever be inaugurated, is scheduled to visit Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for a medical and dental visit, the White House said earlier this month. The president went to Walter Reed in April 2025 for his annual physical exam – and returned in October for what officials characterized as a ‘scheduled follow-up,’ sparking weeks of inquiries about Trump’s diagnosis and procedures that the White House repeatedly sidestepped.”
