One Washington Post reporter has recently exposed a text message sent to former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows at the Trump White House, by a Republican member of the ultra-conservative House Freedom Caucus that has been labeled โchillingโ and โparticularly forebodingโ as it seems to outline the individualโs advanced knowledge of now former President Donald Trumpโs plan with regard to January 6th.
According to the Post, then Chief of Staff Mark Meadows received a particularly unsettling text message (among the many he allegedly received in the days leading up to and on January 6th) from an unnamed Republican lawmaker, reading, โIf POTUS allows this to occurโฆ weโre driving a stake in the heart of the federal republic.โ
Speaking on MSNBC following the WaPo report, journalist for the publication, Carol Leonnig, stated that the โparticularly forebodingโ text messages certainly raises numerous, serious questions, especially with regard to the potential of premeditation on Donald Trumpโs part.
โWhat exactly did that Freedom Caucus member mean by โthisโ? she questioned.

Leonnig did note that it was possible that the lawmaker was referring to the then-outgoing-presidentโs pressure on his VP Mike Pence to refuse to certify the results of the Electoral College votes in an effort to help Trump overturn the 2020 presidential election โ a move Pence infamously refused to take part in.
โBut what else could the โthisโ be?โ the journalist went on to muse. โHow grim and chilling a piece of information is this, if this lawmaker knew something Donald Trump was plotting beyond what we all know now?โ
Jaqueline Alemany, the lead author of the Washington Post report on the text message, also discussed the unsettling findings with MSNBCโs Alex Wagner:
To be frank, this could be huge. Absolutely huge.
