He looked completely confused

Seth Meyers just showed what happens when Trump forgets his own lies.

On A Closer Look, the NBC host played a clip from the White House where Trump was asked about “burn bags.” His own team had claimed the CIA was hiding documents in them. The story came from Trump’s close ally, Kash Patel.

But when a reporter asked Trump what he thought, he looked lost.

“I don’t know that,” Trump said. “I don’t know, I don’t know what you mean by that statement.”

She explained it clearly. Bags filled with documents.

Trump still didn’t get it.

He answered, “I thought Patel appointed a man named Burn Bag.”

Seth Meyers stopped the clip. He stared at the camera.

“Oh, dude, don’t admit that,” he said. “Just say, ‘I couldn’t hear you.’ Don’t tell the world you are off by a country mile.”

He didn’t sugarcoat it.

“That’s how confusing Trump’s bulls–t conspiracy theories are,” Meyers said. “When you repeat them back to him, even he can’t understand what you’re saying.”

Meyers also talked about Trump’s age. He said Trump is 79 and joked that people forget because he was often standing next to someone older.

Then he added, “You can just see his age getting to him. He can’t hear or understand reporters’ questions anymore, even when those reporters are trying to tee him up by parroting his own bulls–t back to him.”

The segment didn’t need anything more. Trump’s own words made the point.

His team pushed a big scandal across right-wing channels — shredded document bags, secret proof, deep state cover-up. But when Trump was asked about it, he couldn’t follow.
