President Donald Trump loves McDonald’s, as we all know. He’s been known to enjoy the food: he worked a shift at a Pennsylvania McDonald’s during the 2024 campaign, served it to a championship sports team during his first term, and even got Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., to enjoy it on a plane at one point.

On Tuesday morning, in what appeared to be a first, the president received a DoorDash order of McDonald’s.

Per CBS News, it wasn’t exactly a spur-of-the-moment event.

“In a televised moment Monday, President Trump welcomed DoorDash delivery driver Sharon Simmons to the White House, and they both spoke to the media as she dropped off a food order from McDonald’s,” the report said.

“The president invited Simmons to talk to the press about tax breaks on tips, but also put her on the spot with questions about whom she voted for and whether she thinks ‘men should play in women’s sports.’ Simmons said she had no opinion on that issue.

During that press availability, Trump was asked about a variety of bizarre social media posts from the day before, including his ripping of Pope Leo, and the image he posted, and later deleted, of himself as Jesus Christ, following an outcry that included some of his staunch supporters. Trump, somewhat unbelievably, claimed that he thought the image was of himself as a doctor.

That explanation led to lots of funny jokes.
