King Charles and Queen Camilla are visiting the United States, and they met with the president and First Lady on Tuesday. And during that meeting, cameras caught Trump cutting in line while Queen Camilla was shaking hands with members of the cabinet.

The video shows Camilla walking through a line of officials, including Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth. But at one point, Trump cut directly in front of Camilla and started shaking hands with the people in line himself, and Charles and Camilla stood and watched.

The Daily Beast called it an “awkward blunder.”

“TV footage showed Camilla, 78, immediately setting about shaking the outstretched hands. She is seen greeting Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles,” the Beast said.

“At that moment, Trump interjects and starts shaking hands right in front of the queen, who appears slightly taken aback. As he greets Yvette Cooper, Britain’s foreign secretary, the queen backs off. She stops greeting the line of people and watches Trump hastily finish off. Her husband was caught up in the apparent breach of royal protocol, too.”

The Beast added that it is considered a “big don’t” to ever walk in front of the king or queen.

There were some shocked reactions on social media to that moment.
