WH Press Secretary Epically Shuts Down Fox News Reporter For Asking Ridiculous Question About Harris’ ‘Southern Accent’

She shut him down.

I’ve noticed that White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has a deep well of patience. That’s a good thing because she has to deal with Peter Doocy’s stupid questions all the time. Including earlier today when the Fox News hack asked her what has to be the Crown Jewel of dumb questions, smack in the middle of a White House press conference.

He asked her “Since when does the Vice President have what sounds like a Southern accent?”

Jean-Pierre looked amused but befuddled by the question, responding with a smile, “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

Doocy stumbled on about how Harris was talking about unions in Detroit, using “one tone of voice…using the same line in Pittsburgh and sounded at least like she had some kind of a Southern drawl.” All the while, Jean-Pierre kept giving him a look that said “Are you for real?”

“Do you hear the question?” she asked, appearing incredulous. “Do you think Americans seriously think this is an important question?”

“You know what they care about? They care about the economy. They care about lowering costs. They care about healthcare. That’s what Americans care about,” she explained.

She later added that just hearing the question “sounds so ridiculous.”

Doocy feebly tried to continue in this ridiculous vein, but Jean-Pierre knee-capped him.

“We’re moving on. Next question,” she said.

I have always loved Karine Jean-Pierre. She takes no prisoners and doesn’t suffer fools like Doocy gladly. And Doocy quite famously stirred President Joe Biden’s ire, making him so angry that he mumbled into a hot mic that Doocy was “a stupid son of a b*tch.”

The Fox News “journalist” had asked Biden “Do you think inflation is a political liability in the midterms?” Yes this is a dumb question. Inflation is always a political liability during elections. The New Republic’s Timothy Noah knew this and so did Biden, who replied with a bit of sarcasm:

“It’s a great ask, that. More inflation. What a stupid son of a bitch.”

That last part was said under his breath but the mic captured the response anyway. Biden may have his problems, but he knew Doocy was trying to embarrass him. The end result, however, was that it made Doocy look stupid, not Biden.

For your viewing pleasure, I’ve included Biden’s now-infamous assessment of Doocy’s intelligence (or mainly lack thereof.) Biden is also known for not suffering fools gladly.

And as you might expect, X users had thoughts about Doocy and Jean-Pierre’s sparring, including @BettyBowers:

One user noted we’ve seen this before.

This user remembered when the late Republican Sen. John McCain (Arizona) handed his a$$ to him.

You’d think Doocy would grow tired of being made to look like a fool. Especially when it’s so easy to do. He never seems to tire of this. Maybe he’s too stupid to realize he’s being made to look stupid.

Now there’s a thought. Frankly, we have too many Peter Doocy’s in the world and not enough Karine Jean-Pierres.
