Kayleigh McEnany, the former White House press secretary under President Donald Trump, appears to think that Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis discovered Florida. McEnany doesn’t believe that DeSantis’ critics like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) should be able to go to the Sunshine State while vacationing even though her mother lives there. Trump’s former White House press secretary, now a Fox News personality, did what appears to be a live stream from the beach to rant against Cortez spending a few days in Florida.
It’s been all over the news. The right-leaning New York Post went with the headline ‘AOC pictured dining maskless in Miami Beach as Omicron cases soar’ even though Cortez is outside sitting at a table with her partner having a drink. You cannot drink or eat with a mask on, and the Post knows that. Sigh. And we can visit a state while also criticizing its governor. I used to live in Florida, and because I am an American, I have the freedom to criticize politicians. This isn’t hard.
Also, I don’t want to be that girl, but this doesn’t look even remotely like McEnany:
