Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky will meet Donald Trump in the Oval Office on Monday. Trump says it will be a “big day” with European leaders also attending. But before talks even begin, reports say the White House asked Ukrainian officials whether Zelensky would be wearing a suit.
According to Axios, two sources confirmed the White House pressed on what Zelensky would wear. That detail now overshadows the seriousness of the meeting.
Zelensky has faced this nonsense before. Last time he met Trump, Real America’s Voice reporter Brian Glenn stood up in the Oval Office and asked why Zelensky didn’t wear a suit. Glenn even shouted, “Do you own a suit? A lot of Americans have problems with you not respecting the dignity of this office.”
Zelensky’s answer was sharp: he said he would wear a “costume” when the war was over.

That jab didn’t sit well. It helped spark a tense back-and-forth between Zelensky and Trump that ended with a fiery Oval Office showdown.
Now Glenn is back at it again. His outlet asked on X, “Will Zelensky wear a suit?” Marjorie Taylor Greene joined the circus, joking, “Is there betting on this? I’m going with it is highly likely he wears a suit.”

Others on X piled on with comments about ties, shoes, and “manners.” The debate has turned into a sideshow while Russia continues its brutal war in Ukraine.

Trump, for his part, is brushing off the fashion talk. On Truth Social, he bragged about hosting so many European leaders at once, calling it a “great honor for America.” He also mocked the media, claiming they would spin his gathering of leaders as a “big loss.”
Still, Axios reports Zelensky will show up in what they called a “suit-style” jacket. The same black jacket he wore to a NATO summit in June. Not a tuxedo. Not a complete three-piece. Just his own version of formal.
The truth is, Zelensky has never been about clothes. His look has been consistent since the invasion: military greens, jackets, the attire of a leader at war. He doesn’t dress for fashion critics or American cable hosts. He dresses to remind the world his country is still fighting for survival.
