White House Reportedly Sent Then Rescinded Email Telling Staff How To Pack Up And Move Out

Just give it up already.

Despite what has seemed like a hint of wishy-washiness regarding the results of the 2020 presidential election — seemingly admitting that Joe Biden is now president-elect but simultaneously marching forward with various lawsuits and recounts — Donald Trump has made it strikingly clear that, no matter what, he is not prepared to willingly concede from the presidency and allow his successor a traditional, peaceful transfer of power. But now it appears as though that wishy-washiness is starting to leech down from the top and affect many of the outgoing staffers in Trump’s White House.

In an email from Tuesday email obtained by POLITICO staffers in the Executive Office of the President were told that they “will start departing” the White House on January 4th. The email also contained instructions on how to properly pack up and leave the place. The email told staffers that they would soon be receiving a “comprehensive checklist” and directed them to “take inventory of your office space.” The message went on to mention “cleaning out your refrigerator and microwave,” and being sure to return “all White House stationery” and “Presidential gifts,” noting that work supplies “will be disinfected upon return.”

However, POLITICO notes in their report on the email that the Trump team’s efforts to somehow overturn the results of this election are still in full swing. In fact, White House chief of staff Mark Meadows paid a visit to the state of Georgia just yesterday where he observed an audit of absentee ballot envelope signatures. That same day Trump himself posted a video message during which he said that the next administration could possibly be “me.”

On the heels of POLITICO’s report regarding the email sent to staffers, the Washington Post’s Josh Dawsey followed with a new report claiming that a new email had since been sent to White House staffers instructing them to disregard the previous email about their impending departure.

“Please disregard the below message,” the second email reportedly read. “Updated information will be shared in the coming days.”

I’m not sure what exactly is going on behind the walls of that White House. But it’s certainly clear that these people need to get their act together, and quick. Because Biden’s coming in in just a few short weeks, whether they like it or not.
