Well, folks, this is disturbing. Very… Very disturbing.
A new report out today had us doing a double-take as one Democratic candidate for the Oklahoma House of Representatives has issued a rather humiliating public apology after reports exposed an incident that took place in the presence of middle school-age girls, in which the congressional hopeful became extremely intoxicated during a Valentine’s Day girls weekend sleepover, ultimately resulting in her bullying one of the girls, making racial slurs, and vomiting in a clothes hamper.
Speaking with television station KFOR 32-year-old Democrat Abby Broyles claimed to have had an adverse reaction to a combination of the wine she drank during the slumber party and a sleeping medication that was allegedly given to her by a friend.
In a televised interview with the local TV station, Broyles claimed, “Instead of helping me sleep, I hallucinated. And I don’t remember anything until I woke up or came to, and I was throwing up in a hamper.”

The House candidate said she was invited to the slumber party by a close, personal friend from law school who was the mother of one of the girls at the sleepover. The story was first reported on by the online news outlet NonDoc, and parents of some of the children at the party told the publication that Broyles berated multiple 12 to 13-year-old girls at the party, used profanity, and went so far as to negatively comment on one of the childrens’ acne and another’s Hispanic accent.
Last week, Sarah Matthews, the mother of one of the girls at the party, sent out a tweet expressing her disappointment that the congressional candidate had not yet reached out to issue an apology for her appalling behavior.
“For someone who pontificates to be undyingly pro-woman, I am disgusted by your behavior and find it appalling you couldn’t understand why their parents are angry,” Matthews penned on social media.

Broyles originally denied that she was even present at the slumber party when first speaking with NonDoc. However, in her interview with KFOR later on, where she used to personally work as a journalist, she apologized for her behavior at the sleepover.
“I want to say sorry from the bottom of my heart, I apologize for any hurt or damage or trauma that my behavior, when I didn’t know what I was doing, caused,” the Democratic hopeful stated. “I’m deeply sorry.”
Today, Broyles provided to The Associated Press, in which she claimed she doesn’t believe she would have said the things she has been accused of saying, and made it clear that she has no plans to remove herself from the congressional race.
“The things I’m accused to have said are not who I am. They’re not a reflection of my beliefs at all,” she said in her statement. “It’s clear this media smear campaign is politically backed, and I won’t stop fighting for Oklahomans.”
We’re well aware that Broyles is a Democratic candidate. However, Red or Blue, Donkey or Elephant, we call them like we see them around here — and this woman is disgusting.
