In a bombshell development reported on by the Wall Street Journal as the Manhattan hush money indictment finally crashes down on Donald Trump’s head, the publication now confirms that testimony delivered to the grand jury by witness David Pecker has “tied Mr. Trump directly to the payment to Ms. McDougal and to an alleged broader scheme to suppress negative stories about Mr. Trump during his 2016 presidential campaign, according to some of the people familiar with the matter.”

Recently, we reported on the bombshell development revealed by the New York Times, confirming that the former publisher of the National Enquirer appeared before the Manhattan Grand Jury for the second time in the infamous Manhattan hush money case, related to DA Bragg’s investigation into an alleged $130,000 payment made by Donald Trump’s then-personal attorney and self-described “fixer,” Michael Cohen, to adult film star and alleged former Trump affair partner Stormy Daniels at Trump’s behest just weeks before the 2016 presidential election, in an effort to buy Daniels’ silence regarding their alleged sexual affair, in fear that the scandal would harm his election chances.

David Pecker once served as the CEO of American Media, the parent company of the National Enquirer, and is said to have served as a “key player” in the infamous hush money incident, allegedly personally brokering the financial deal between Daniels and Cohen, along with the tabloid’s top editor at the time.

In addition to their infamous, widely-reported on investigation into the Stormy Daniels hush money scandal, the Manhattan DA’s office has spent months now also digging into a $150,000 payment made to former Playboy model Karen McDougal who also alleges to have engaged in an extramarital sexual affair with the now scandal-ridden ex-president.

As noted by a popular political Twitter user, it seems this development is what officially opened the former president to conspiracy charges:

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, his investigators and prosecutors, and grand jury made history this week, after the jury made a historical vote to indict the 45 president of the United States, Donald Trump. This is the first time in American history that a current or former US president has ever been charged with a crime.
