Trump Seemed To Have A Freudian Slip On Live TV After He Gave Harris’ Record A Huge Compliment

He let that one slip.

Donald Trump has been making frequent appearances recently on loyal news networks like Fox News and Newsmax, calling in to deliver incoherent rants about the state of the world. During last weekā€™s Democratic National Convention, a clip surfaced on X (formerly Twitter) where Trump accidentally complimented his opponents.

Many of Trumpā€™s calls were in direct response to speeches made during the DNC. The former one-term, twice-impeached president seemed visibly triggered, using his access to these networks to lash out. However, at times, it appeared that even these networks were growing tired of his outbursts. In at least one instance, a speech in Michigan was cut short by both Fox News and Newsmax, and in another instance, Fox News network anchors tried to get him off the phone.

What stands out in one of these calls is his slip-up: complimenting Kamala Harris and Joe Biden, despite consistently attacking them. He quickly reverted to his usual mudslinging, however, seemingly hoping his moment of praise would be forgotten. Yet, thanks to Aaron Rupar, the clip has resurfaced almost a week later.

This marks the second time during the DNC in Chicago that Trump said something positive about his opponents, previously offering compliments to the Obamas before they took the stage for their speeches.

Trumpā€™s campaign has largely focused on attacking Bidenā€™s age, a strategy he hopes will give him an edge in the upcoming debates. His aim ended up pushing Biden out of the race, clearing the path for a much younger Kamala Harris to step in.

Ironically, however, Trump himself is now facing scrutiny for appearing out of touch, with many on X (formerly Twitter) questioning his mental clarity.

Itā€™s unlikely that blunders like these will help his struggling campaign against Harris. As the debate between them approaches, it remains unclear whether Trump will even show up. A recent panel discussion cast doubt on whether heā€™ll stay focused on the issues or wander off-topic and that’s if he even attends. Either way, his poll numbers seem destined to take another hit.
