“I was caught off guard when I received a call informing me that the president wanted to see me in the Oval Office,” Melania writes in the book.  “I was directed to join him in the Situation Room—a first and unique experience for me.”

Melania also says in the chapter that she “asked questions” during the raid.

“Curious about the specifics, I inquired about the number of troops involved, and the details were explained to me.” She also does not use Mike Pence’s name in the chapter, calling him only “the vice president,” indicating that Pence, post-January 6, remains persona non grata in the Trump orbit.

One historian told The Daily Beast that a First Lady may sometimes access government secrets at the president’s discretion. But according to the report, “The moment crystallized the unorthodoxy of former President Trump and his wife.”

The memoir has made news for multiple revelations, including that the former First Lady appears to support legalized abortion and her denial of longstanding rumors that her son Barron is autistic.
