One of the many strange episodes of the general election campaign has been Donald Trump’s claims that Kamala Harris is lying about her claims to have once worked at McDonald’s.

Harris has discussed having that summer job in her 20s in various speeches, including at the Democratic National Convention. Trump has repeatedly claimed that Harris “never worked at McDonald’s,” while some pro-Trump figures have falsely claimed that the McDonald’s corporation has confirmed that Harris never worked there. The company has not weighed in, nor would they likely have records of who did and didn’t work for one of its franchisees decades ago.

Now, Trump is planning a stunt, based entirely on that lie.

CNN is reporting that Trump will visit a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania on Sunday, in order to “work the fry cooker.” It’s not clear where in Pennsylvania the McDonald’s visit will take place.

Trump is, of course, a lifelong lover of fast food, having once served burgers from McDonald’s and elsewhere to a college football championship team during his presidency.

The reactions to the McDonald’s visit were somewhat humorous.

Trump would not be the first former president to visit a McDonald’s this month; Bill Clinton did so in Georgia last week, although he was mistaken by an employee for Joe Biden.
