On the day before Election Day in 2024, Ivanka Trump shared a list of 17 “truths” she claims to have learned over her 43 years. She posted these “life lessons” on X (formerly Twitter), talking about love, forgiveness, and positivity. But her list didn’t exactly inspire the kind of reaction she may have expected. Instead, it opened the door to a wave of responses mocking both Ivanka and her father, Donald Trump.
Ivanka, who turned 43 last week, urged her followers to approach life with love and “choose words that heal, not harm.” She talked about guarding peace, forgiving others, and learning from everyone. Her post ended with a hopeful message: “Here’s to another year of growth, love, and meaningful moments!”

However, her message didn’t seem to convince people who have long criticized the Trump family and their political influence. Many social media users quickly responded, questioning whether her father, former President and current GOP nominee Donald Trump, follows these principles himself. The reaction was harsh and sarcastic.

Ivanka may have intended to share some positivity, but many critics saw this as hypocritical, given Donald Trump’s history. For many, Trump’s actions and words go against the values Ivanka listed. Critics argued that Donald Trump is known more for divisive rhetoric than for spreading love and peace, and they made their opinions known.
One user, @madwomantwit, replied: “Can you please encourage your father to practice this? :(” The comment directly questioned whether Trump himself lives by the principles Ivanka shared.
Can you please encourage your father to practice this? 🙁

Another user, @Rodlong91, responded with: “The truth that your father lost the election, fair and square? The truth that your father led an insurrection and did nothing to stop it?” This reply was a sharp reminder of Trump’s controversial claims about the 2020 election and his role in the January 6th Capitol attack.

Another user, @0w3nHugh3s, simply replied, “Have you met, your dad?” pointing out the clear disconnect between Ivanka’s words and her father’s actions.

Then there was @Strickalator, who added, “Please remind your father to do this. 💜💜💜☮️🇺🇸.” This comment hinted at the irony of Ivanka advising people to practice peace and kindness when her father is often seen as divisive.
Please remind your father to do this.

And @mostlyjokes summed it up with a sharp response: “Your father is unforgivable.”

Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner worked as unpaid advisors in Donald Trump’s White House. Yet, while they held these roles, they reportedly made between $172 million and $640 million from outside business. Recently, Ivanka has tried to keep some distance from her father’s political life. She’s stayed mostly out of sight during his b 2024 campaign, except for a brief appearance at the Republican National Convention.
Many people think it’s hypocritical for Ivanka to talk about “truth” and “positivity.” They remember the controversies surrounding her father’s presidency, his intense social media presence, and his legal troubles. Critics feel that, instead of promoting forgiveness and kindness, Ivanka could focus on real actions that might address some of the harm they believe her father’s policies have caused.
Ivanka’s message, they say, shows she may not understand how regular Americans feel right now. While she speaks about growth and love, many people in the country are still struggling with high healthcare costs, inequality, and worries about democracy—problems that critics say the Trump administration didn’t handle well.
Life lessons might sound nice, but considering her family’s history and political impact, it’s no surprise her message didn’t connect the way she may have hoped.
